Here is more information about the book.
Twenty three year old Ella Cohen always knew there had to be more to life than what her dilapidated neighborhood in the bad part of the city had to offer, she just wasn’t sure what that was. Seeking change and a way to help her mother pay off the debts accumulated after her father’s passing, Ella finds a surprising new job that plonks the girl from the wrong side of the tracks right in the midst of Israel’s illustrious Diamond Exchange. Exposed to the glamorous world of the diamond industry – the money, the beautiful women clad in Prada, the intrigues and the men, Ella is in for a few surprises, and winds up getting more than she bargained for.
The handsome Danny Lerman, her older and very married boss, quickly becomes the object of her desire, and things heat up around the office fast. But having an affair with your married boss is one thing, Ella ponders, while having to work alongside his wife – the beautiful and elegant Monica, a partner in the office – is quite another. At least she finally made new friends from the Exchange, whom she can confide in. Swept in a whirlwind love affair, Ella boards a plane for the first time in her life, travels to New York and London with her new boss, wines and dines in the finest restaurants and receives her first pair of diamond earrings. When her mother warns that ‘Where there is money, there is trouble’, she disregards her words of wisdom, blinded by her love for Danny.
Ella’s new life takes a sharp turn when one day she finds discrepancies in the office records. It appears that diamonds have gone missing. As the dutiful secretary, she immediately alerts her bosses, Danny and Monica, but the two seem unconcerned. Eager to please her lover, Ella tries to find the source of the discrepancies, but it seems that she had inadvertently stepped on someone’s toes. But whose? Without the slightest clue as to what she had done wrong, Ella’s life quickly turns into a nightmare. Masked thugs kidnap her during her trip to London and stalk her in Tel Aviv. They threaten her, attack her in dark corners of the city and set her car on fire, and it seems that there is no one she can turn to.
When she finds herself under police investigation, somehow implicated in the Graff diamond robbery, she is close to losing it. Someone has been working very hard to ruin her life and frame her for one the world’s biggest diamond heists, and if she doesn’t find out who it is, she is doomed. With her love affair on the rocks and only her friends to help her, Ella sets out to discover the truth. On the road to proving her innocence, the young and beautiful Ella happens to learn a lesson or two about friendship and true love.
